What I’ve Learned: Strength Doesn’t Always Look the Way We Think It Will

I used to think strength looked clear, confident, and unshaken, the kind that has answers and holds everything together. But life has a way of redefining that.
What I’ve learned is that strength is often much quieter. It’s showing up when your mind is somewhere else, carrying concern for someone you love, and making decisions when nothing feels certain. It’s not loud, and most of the time, no one else even sees it. I see this often in the people I walk alongside. What looks like a simple next step is rarely simple, and still, people keep moving forward.
That is strength.
Not pretending everything is fine, but continuing with care, even when it’s hard. My faith has reminded me that strength isn’t something I have to create on my own, it’s something I’m given, especially in the moments I feel the weakest. If this season feels heavier than you expected, I hope you know you are stronger than it feels right now, simply because you’re still here, still showing up, still moving forward.
